SCHOOL POLICY
ADMISSIONS
Parent should complete and sign the enrollment form and submit it to us with tuition fees.
Information such as allergy history, learning style preference, media sharing preference must be submitted in written form.
ENROLLMENT
Confirm your child’s class timing at the beginning of each term (5 two-month terms plus 4 holiday camps in a year, see school calendar for details).
All class spaces are allocated on a first-come, first serve basis
Schedules, fees and policies are subject to change without prior notice.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Accompanied Classes:
To foster the best Mandarin speaking and learning environment, we encourage accompanying adults to learn along with the children in class and speak Mandarin only during classes.
Parents/Guardians and children must wear socks to classrooms. Shoes and bare feet are not permitted.
Parents/Guardians attending accompanied classes must refrain from carrying sharp objects like knitting needles, nail cutters and scissors into classrooms.
Media Policy:
Parents/Guardians are not permitted to take photos/videos during class.
Please switch off your mobile phones in the classroom.
We reserve the right to use photos, videos and/or sound recordings of children for teacher training, curriculum development, or promotional purposes unless otherwise informed by you at the time of admission.
Other Code of Conduct:
In line with Social Welfare Department policy, we require a guardian on the premise for any children younger than 3 years old. While remain on campus, please take care of your children and your belongings.
Food and drinks are prohibited in classrooms and in the play area.
Mulberry House reserves the right to refuse entry to any person not following the appropriate code of conduct on the premises and reserves the right to make all final decisions.
All participants enrolled in activities do so at their own risk and Mulberry House is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to students, their family members, and guests as a result of participating in these activities.
MAKE-UP CLASSES
We encourage parents to inculcate punctuality and discipline in children from the early years. It is in your child’s best interest to be regular and punctual for classes (we encourage arriving 10 minutes before classes).
Classes missed without prior notice (2 hours before the class starts) are not eligible for make-up classes.
Subject to availability, enrolled students are offered 2 make-up classes for 2 notified missed classes during term, to be used up within the current term (cannot be carried forward to the next term).
Any ad-hoc schedule changes after the term has started will be counted toward the make-up classes quota. It is necessary to provide advanced notice by emailing hello@mulberryhouseasia.com
If our available classes for make-up do not match your child’s schedule, or you have missed the make-up class, we cannot guarantee a replacement class as spaces are limited..
No make-up classes are available for holiday camps: Chinese New Year, Easter, Summer and Winter camps.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Mulberry House is closed for all public holidays, and no tuition fees will be charged for public holidays (see school calendar).
ENFORCED CLOSURES
Mulberry House will be closed for black rains, Typhoon 8 or higher. No make-up classes will be offered in lieu of cancelled classes due to these enforced closures by the Bureau of Education.
Classes will resume 2 hours after the warning has been lifted.
For the health and well-being of the children and our staff, children showing signs of illness or with the following symptoms are encouraged to stay home and notify us 2 hours before class (to be eligible for a make-up class).
A temperature over 37.5 °C or 99.5 °F
An deep, hacking cough
Severe congestion
Wheezing or difficulty breathing
An unexplained rash
Acute symptoms of food poisoning such as vomiting, diarrhoea
Head lice or nits
Any other contagious condition
All children must go though hand sanitisation and temperature check before attending classes.
Mulberry House reserves the right to refuse admission to unwell children, in order to protect the well being of all other children, adults and staff on campuses.
ALLERGY
Mulberry House has a nut free policy. Food or drinks containing nuts or nut extracts are not served during snack time (a drink and small snack are provided for children for the foundation programme).
Parents/Guardians of a student with any allergy must ensure they communicate with us in writing at the time of student admission.
In case of any life threatening allergy, please provide Mulberry House with a signed Allergy Action Plan by the child’s physician including details of any recognisable symptoms of the allergic attack. Please also provide us with the prescribed medication.
